Cancún, Quintana Roo — Mexican authorities raided a banquet hall in Cancún on Tuesday night as part of an investigation into a missing person, officials said.
The operation targeted the Tuk event hall on Avenida Fonatur at Calle Alerces in the Supermanzana 523 neighborhood. Investigators from the State Prosecutor’s Office, assigned to the specialized missing persons unit, executed a search warrant after an individual was reported missing and last seen at the venue, according to a statement.
Personnel from the Mexican Army, Navy, National Guard and municipal police secured the perimeter while forensic experts and ministerial agents conducted the search inside.
Authorities have not disclosed whether any evidence was found or if anyone was detained. The identity of the missing person has not been released as the investigation continues.
After the search, officials placed seizure seals on the property, which remains under prosecutor’s office custody.
