Authorities Raid Safe House in Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Seize Arsenal

Assault rifles and ammunition seized by authorities during a raid on a safe house in Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Quintana Roo.

Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Quintana Roo — A joint operation led by the State Prosecutor’s Office uncovered a property allegedly used for illicit activities in the Juan Bautista Vega neighborhood, where authorities seized high-caliber weapons, drugs, vehicles, and tactical gear.

The raid took place at a home on Calle 66 with 45-A, with personnel from the Prosecutor’s Office coordinating with the Mexican Army, the Mexican Navy, and municipal police to execute a search warrant linked to an investigation into enforced disappearances.

Inside the property, officers found a cache of weapons including seven AK-47 and R-15 assault rifles, two 9mm pistols, and a grenade launcher. They also recovered 90 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, dozens of loaded magazines, and four drum magazines — all of which are restricted for military use.

Authorities additionally seized a white powder resembling cocaine, two ballistic vests marked with the letters “FGR” (Federal Prosecutor’s Office), ballistic plates, a tactical helmet, and three cell phones.

Three vehicles were secured at the scene: a Toyota Hilux, an Audi, and a Seat Ibiza, all believed to be connected to the ongoing investigation.

After completing the search, officials placed seizure seals on the property, and all evidence was turned over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office to be incorporated into the case file.

No arrests have been reported in connection with the operation.
