Authorities Raid Offices at Plaza Azuna in Cancún Amid Secrecy

Cancún, Quintana Roo — State prosecutors, backed by National Guard personnel, conducted a search operation Friday afternoon at Plaza Azuna, a busy corporate and commercial complex in Cancún, sparking curiosity among workers, visitors, and motorists on Sayil Avenue.

Investigators set up a security perimeter around the building while ministerial agents entered various areas of the complex to carry out court-authorized actions related to an ongoing investigation.

According to preliminary information, the operation stemmed from a complaint that allowed prosecutors to gather enough evidence to request a search warrant. A judge approved the warrant after reviewing the evidence presented by the State Prosecutor’s Office (FGE). The operation lasted several hours under strict security measures.

Although sources indicated the investigation involves possible illicit activities, authorities had not disclosed the nature of the alleged crime or the scope of the operation as of Friday evening. Officials also did not confirm any arrests or seizures of documents, equipment, or other evidence.

National Guard personnel remained at the scene, guarding main entrances and strategic points, restricting access to unauthorized individuals and ensuring safety for the investigators.

The presence of law enforcement drew attention from dozens of people in the area, especially because the plaza houses private company offices, professional firms, and various retail businesses. Authorities declined to specify which areas of the complex were searched.

Witnesses reported that official vehicles remained on site for several hours, generating curiosity among passersby. The operation proceeded without visible incidents and under a marked silence from participants.

Unofficially, sources said the investigation remains open and results of the search may be announced in the coming hours. The State Prosecutor’s Office is expected to issue an official statement clarifying the reason for the search and any findings from the operation at one of the city’s most important corporate zones.
