Cancun, Quintana Roo — A large-scale security operation involving state and federal authorities raided Bar La Rumba on Arco Vial Avenue early Saturday, executing a search warrant linked to an investigation into alleged illegal activities.

The operation began after midnight and quickly drew attention from nearby residents, motorists, and business owners as multiple official vehicles partially blocked traffic while investigators conducted searches inside the establishment.

National Guard officers cordoned off the area to provide perimeter security while investigators entered the premises to collect evidence. Sources said the Mexican Army and Navy also participated, though authorities remained tight-lipped about the specific target of the intervention.

Unofficial reports indicated that several people were removed from the bar during the raid. Witnesses reported seeing a Urvan-type van in which individuals were transported under strict security measures. Officials have not confirmed how many people were taken from the site or their legal status.

Nearby residents said the operation lasted several hours and included inspections of vehicles parked near the business. Some motorists reported that vehicles considered suspicious were searched, though no official arrests have been announced.

The presence of armed agents and federal patrols caused uncertainty among local residents, who noted that the bar had only been operating for a few weeks. Some neighbors said that in recent nights, there had been an increase in foot and vehicle traffic around the establishment, raising concerns.

Although no agency issued official information during the operation, preliminary reports indicated that the raid was led by personnel from the State Prosecutor’s Office assigned to specialized units for combating drug dealing and human trafficking.

Authorities have not confirmed whether any objects, substances, weapons, or documents were seized during the search. The State Prosecutor’s Office is expected to release an official statement in the coming hours detailing the results of the operation.
