A woman was wounded in an armed assault at the Goyo taco shop on Boulevard Paraíso Maya, in the Paraíso Maya district of Cancún. The incident took place around 2:30 am on March 26. Initial reports suggest that a couple dining at the establishment were targeted by individuals in a passing vehicle who opened fire.

Originally, it was believed that the taco shop itself was the target of the attack. However, authorities later confirmed that the couple were the intended victims. The woman was injured during the incident and received immediate medical attention from ERUM paramedics at the scene. She was subsequently transported to the General Hospital for further treatment.

The woman's companion, a man whose identity is currently undisclosed, was unharmed. He was interviewed by authorities in an attempt to gather more details about the incident. Following the report of the attack, officers from the Municipal, State, and Ministerial Police arrived at the scene to collect evidence and begin their investigations.

As of now, no arrests have been made. The assailants managed to escape and authorities are still investigating to determine the motive behind the attack and identify the individuals responsible for this act of violence in the city.
