Cancún Attack: 1 Dead, Pregnant Woman Injured

Cancún — A Monday night armed attack in Cancún's supermanzana 238, specifically on Calle 116, resulted in the death of one man and left a pregnant woman with serious injuries. According to initial reports, the victims were inside a vehicle when they were intercepted by individuals traveling on a motorcycle. After carrying out the attack, the assailants fled the scene.

The man died at the scene of the incident. The injured woman, whose condition is reported as serious, was urgently transported to the General Hospital to receive specialized medical attention.

Authorities immediately cordoned off the area. Criminalistics experts were tasked with collecting ballistic evidence and transporting the body of the deceased to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) for the legally required autopsy.

Authorities have opened the corresponding investigation file to locate the perpetrators and determine the motive for this crime.
