Mayor Inspects Tulum Clinics to Boost Healthcare Services

Tulum, Mexico — Tulum Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo conducted inspections of health clinics in the communities of Chemuyil and Akumal to assess conditions and identify urgent needs as part of efforts to enhance medical services across the municipality.

The visits allowed the mayor to evaluate the operational challenges faced by these facilities and reaffirm his administration’s commitment to ensuring dignified and quality healthcare access for all residents.

Direct Engagement with Medical Staff and Infrastructure Needs

During the tour, Castañón acknowledged the work of medical and administrative personnel who serve the local population daily.

“The people of Tulum deserve the best healthcare services because health is not a privilege—it is a right that everyone should have access to, and it must be of high quality,” he stated.

The mayor held discussions with clinic administrators and issued directives to promptly address identified deficiencies, ranging from infrastructure improvements to medical supply shortages. He emphasized that his administration prioritizes practical, on-the-ground solutions over bureaucratic approaches.

“We are a results-driven government, and we are proving it with actions. Needs cannot be identified from behind a desk—you have to go out into the streets, engage with the people, and visit the places where services are delivered,” he said.
