Police officers outside a nightclub in Othón P. Blanco, Quintana Roo, during a human trafficking raid that rescued 28 women.

Othón P. Blanco, Quintana Roo — Authorities rescued 28 women believed to be victims of human trafficking during a raid on a nightclub in the Comité Proterritorio neighborhood, the Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office announced.

The operation was carried out with support from the Mexican Navy, the Public Security Department, and municipal police, following a search warrant authorized by a judge. The nightclub, located on Maxuxac Avenue, was operating as a bar.

According to prosecutors, the women were working under conditions of subordination and risk. They received medical attention, psychological support, and institutional protection under victim care protocols.

Drugs, Vehicles, and Surveillance Equipment Seized

During the search, agents from the specialized prosecutor’s offices for drug dealing and human trafficking seized surveillance cameras, a DVR, suspected marijuana, substances resembling crystal meth, and boxes of condoms.

Authorities also impounded four motorcycles — three without license plates — and three Chevrolet vehicles. Officials said the evidence will be used to investigate possible illicit activities at the establishment.

11 Arrested on Trafficking and Drug Charges

Seven men and four women were arrested on suspicion of drug offenses and human trafficking for the purpose of forced prostitution. Among those detained is a woman originally from Bogotá, Colombia. Another man was arrested near the scene on suspicion of drug dealing.

All detainees and seized items have been turned over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine their legal status in the coming hours.
