Clemente Escalante Alcocer, Director of Culture Patronage, predicts a 30% to 40% increase in visitors at the 20 tourist paradors under his department's management during the Christmas season. On average, these paradors host between 9,000 to 11,000 visitors per day.
"We are now entering a peak period. Every December, we see a significant influx of both domestic and international visitors, causing our daily average to rise by 30 to 40%," said Alcocer.
Among the 20 paradors, the one in Chichén Itzá is the most frequented. Alcocer explained, "Chichén Itzá is not only nationally significant but also internationally. It's a national treasure, and hoteliers and tour operators are keen on us maintaining high-quality services."
As the year comes to a close, the Culture Patronage is focused on preserving services and ensuring the quality of the paradors. Besides Chichén Itzá, other notable paradors include Uxmal, El Corchito, Ek Balam, Celestún, Pasaje Picheta, Zací, Chocholá, Uaymitún, Halachó, and Balamcanché.
