“Nail-biting Yucatán Election Update Revealed: Who’s Leading the Race?”

Following a suspenseful wait, the results of the quick count for the Yucatán gubernatorial race were finally released by Iepac. The results show a narrow margin between candidates Renán Barrera Concha and Joaquín Díaz Mena.

According to a document from the Advisory Committee of the INE Rapid Count, voter turnout in Yucatán is estimated to be between 68.2% and 73%. The preliminary results for the governorship are as follows:

  • Renán Barrera, representing PAN, PRI, and PRD, is projected to have between 41.4% and 46.7% of the vote.
  • Huacho Díaz Mena is expected to have between 46.5% and 51.6% of the vote.

These projections are based on data from 208 polling stations, which make up 59.4% of the 350 stations selected for the quick count.

Following the release of these results, Joaquín Díaz Mena declared himself the winner on social media. He expressed his gratitude to the people of Yucatán for the opportunity to serve as their governor, promising that the best times for Yucatán are yet to come.
