A foreign man was discovered dead in an apartment within the Palmeiras condominium complex located in the Gonzalo Guerrero neighborhood of Playa del Carmen. His body was found around 10 a.m. at the junction of 38th and 40th avenues, prompting a response from local police.
Preliminary reports suggest that the man, who was believed to be suffering from a chronic illness, had not been seen for several days. Friends of the deceased became concerned when he stopped answering calls, leading them to suspect that something might have happened to him.
Upon arrival, police confirmed the man was dead. Alongside the body, they found a farewell note written in English. This discovery has led to speculation that the man may have taken his own life.
Following the confirmation of the man's death, specialists from the State Attorney General's Office were called to the scene to conduct an investigation. The body was then transported to the Forensic Medical Service for an official autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
