Cozumel, Mexico – The young woman Mariana “P,” who had been reported missing on the morning of Wednesday, December 31, was found dead at night in a wooded area at the entrance to the El Encanto 2 subdivision on the island of Cozumel.
According to preliminary information, the discovery was made following search efforts and attention to citizen reports, which led to the mobilization of security personnel.
In an initial review, no visible signs of violence were observed, so authorities are investigating the case as a suicide, although there is no definitive official ruling at this time.
The area was cordoned off to allow the work of experts from the State Attorney General’s Office, who carried out the corresponding procedures and the removal of the body. The investigation file remains open in order to fully clarify what happened.
Relatives and people close to the young woman requested respect and privacy during this difficult time, while the authorities’ inquiries continue.
