A boat capsized off Coco Beach in the Xaman-Ha neighborhood earlier today, marking the second such incident in less than a fortnight. The accident took place around midday as the boat, carrying at least five tourists, was navigating near CTM Avenue.
According to reports, the boat overturned due to the impact of heavy waves and strong winds. The operators of the tourist service, who were in charge of the boat, promptly sought assistance from other boaters in the vicinity.
In a fortunate turn of events, the tourists managed to swim safely to the nearby shore. Following the incident, representatives from the Municipal Police and Civil Protection arrived at the scene to evaluate the boat's crew members and document the incident.
The staff of the Port Captain, along with local boaters, worked together to retrieve the capsized boat and bring it back to shore. It's noteworthy to mention that a similar incident occurred in the same area on October 18th, which also resulted in no injuries.
