“Riviera Maya Fight Night: Viva Playa del Carmen Event”

This Saturday, August 10, starting at 7pm, the multi-purpose gym of the Colosio sports unit will be the stage for a thrilling night of boxing, muay thai, and kickboxing. The event, entitled “Viva Playa del Carmen”, will feature fighters from Quintana Roo going head to head with challengers from across Mexico. The event will be broadcast on channel 6 of the Multimedios group and various digital platforms. The announcement was made at a press conference held at the Wyndham Garden Playa del Carmen Hotel.

Paty Fajardo, from WarBox Promotions, the event's organizer, said, "We're anticipating a historic night with fifteen professional boxing matches, two muay thai fights, and one kickboxing fight. We're grateful for the collaboration with associations, gyms, sponsors, and municipal authorities. Fans can expect a great show in the heart of the Riviera Maya."

Amador Gutiérrez Guigui, general director of the Municipal Sports Institute, expressed his satisfaction at hosting such high-profile events that boost the region's sports tourism sector. He praised the promoters and sponsors for their support and for providing opportunities to Quintana Roo athletes, particularly those from Solidaridad who will be stepping into the ring on Saturday.

Ignacio Juárez, a promoter from Forjando Campeones, encouraged fans to attend the event and support the fighters who have been training hard for this event. He assured that the fighters will give their best in the ring. Tickets are reasonably priced and can be purchased at the Boxing Shop on 8th Street between 5th and 10th Avenues.

Among the fighters present at the event were Alvino “cobra” Herrera and Gustavo “piña” Melgar, who will be the main event in the eight-round Super Featherweight fight. Both fighters expressed their readiness and determination to give their best fight on Saturday.

Armando and Luis Pérez Mosso, who are brothers, expressed their excitement to fight in their home state and their ambition to win to advance their professional careers. Cancún-born Xinnia “Pao” Macia is returning to the city with the aim of achieving victory.

Local fighters Yelmi “Mexicanita” Sánchez and debutant Cristian “Rayo” Balam expressed their excitement to fight in front of their home crowd. They assured that they will give their all in each round. In total, six fighters from Solidaridad, four from Playa del Carmen and two from Puerto Aventuras, will participate in the event.
