Woman robbed at knifepoint in Cancún’s Villas del Mar

Cancún, Quintana Roo — A woman was robbed at knifepoint by two assailants on a motorcycle in the Villas del Mar 1 subdivision on Wednesday morning. The incident, captured by a security camera, has been handed over to authorities to identify and locate the perpetrators.

Details of the Attack

The robbery occurred around 8:00 a.m. on Paseo La Ceiba street while the victim was walking alone. According to witness accounts and surveillance footage, the two suspects approached swiftly, brandishing a knife to intimidate the woman and forcibly take a bag she was carrying. The entire confrontation lasted less than five minutes.

The security camera footage clearly captured the assailants’ faces, providing critical evidence for their identification and eventual arrest. Authorities have already received the video to begin their investigation.

Despite the presence of two nearby residents at the time of the robbery, neither intervened nor reported the incident to authorities.

Calls for Increased Security

Residents of Villas del Mar 1 have urgently appealed to local authorities to increase police patrols in the area, both during the day and at night, to prevent further robberies and improve safety for the community.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the crime.
