Videomapping ‘Senderos de Luz’ Returns to Izamal

Videomapping projection on the ex-convent of San Antonio de Padua in Izamal, Yucatán

Izamal, Yucatán — The videomapping experience ‘Senderos de Luz’ has returned to the Magical Town of Izamal, offering an audiovisual journey through the history, identity, and cultural legacy of one of Yucatán’s most emblematic destinations.

The Patronage of Cultural and Tourist Services Units of the State of Yucatán (Cultur) invited locals, national visitors, and international tourists to enjoy the experience, which combines monumental projections, music, and narrative in the City of Three Cultures.

The reactivation responds to interest from municipal authorities, service providers, and residents of Izamal in having the experience available again during the vacation season as an alternative to enrich visits to the municipality.

‘Senderos de Luz’ brings to life the historical, cultural, and spiritual richness of Izamal, highlighting the encounter between the Maya past, the viceregal era, and the contemporary identity that distinguishes this destination.

The tour begins at Los Cañones Park and leads attendees through some of the city’s most representative spaces, where the architecture of the ex-convent of San Antonio de Padua becomes a canvas for projections evoking Maya cosmogony, traditions, and events that have marked Izamal’s history.

The experience takes place every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8 p.m., departing from Los Cañones Park. It lasts approximately 40 minutes and is designed to offer a different way to learn about and appreciate Yucatán’s cultural heritage.

Tickets cost 163 pesos for foreign visitors and 110 pesos for nationals. They can be purchased at the Izamal Municipal Palace, located on Calle 30-A between 31 and 31-A in the city center, Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
