Mexico City — U.S. authorities have renewed a $10 million reward for information leading to the capture of Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar and his three brothers, known collectively as “Los Chapitos,” the sons of imprisoned drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the reward on Tuesday, describing Iván Archivaldo Guzmán as the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel and “armed and highly dangerous.” The agency posted his image on social media alongside the reward offer.

“Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar and his three brothers, known as ‘Los Chapitos,’ inherited drug trafficking networks from their notorious father, Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán Loera,” the ICE post stated.

The U.S. Embassy in Mexico later shared the ICE announcement, reiterating the reward for the Sinaloa cartel leaders.

The reward amount was increased from $5 million in 2022 to $10 million in 2023. In May 2025, New York state authorities accused the eldest “Chapo” son of personally murdering two agents from Mexico’s then-Federal Prosecutor’s Office (PGR) and three members of the rival “Los Zetas” cartel in 2017.

According to documents reviewed by Latinus, Iván Archivaldo Guzmán leads the security apparatus for “Los Chapitos,” commanding individuals who carry out violence to protect the group’s operations and extensive properties. The documents allege he “has ordered and personally perpetrated acts of violence, including the kidnapping and murder of law enforcement agents and rival drug traffickers.”

The same file also implicated his brother Jesús Alfredo, along with Óscar Noé Medina, alias “El Panu,” and Néstor Isidro Pérez Salas, alias “El Nini” — now imprisoned in the United States and former leader of the “Los Ninis” faction — in the capture, torture, and murder of two federal PGR agents.
