Two Students Found With Drugs at Playa del Carmen Middle School

Police vehicles and officers outside the Vicente Guerrero middle school in Playa del Carmen after two students were found with drugs.

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Two 13-year-old students were removed from a middle school in the Misión de las Flores neighborhood after school staff found a white substance believed to be a narcotic inside a pencil case belonging to the girls.

The incident occurred at the Telesecundaria “Vicente Guerrero” on Avenida Constituyentes with Flor de Ciruelo. School officials alerted the Secretariat of Public Security, and police officers arrived to take the students into custody and transport them to the appropriate authorities for processing.

Parents gathered outside the police station, demanding clear information about the legal proceedings and expressing frustration over the lack of communication. The case comes just days after four other students from the same school were hospitalized after allegedly consuming gummy candies laced with illicit substances.

Parents and teachers are now calling for increased security and stricter safety protocols on campus.
