Two vehicles were severely damaged in separate accidents on Highway 307, resulting in damages worth thousands of pesos. The first accident, which occurred on the stretch between José María Morelos and Polyuc, tragically claimed two lives. The second incident involved a car flipping over on the route between Playa del Carmen and Cancun, leading to a road closure and subsequent traffic jam.
Emergency services quickly transported the drivers involved in the accidents to nearby hospitals. Meanwhile, authorities worked tirelessly to restore the flow of traffic. Drivers affected by the road closure on the Playa del Carmen-Cancun stretch urged officials to expedite their efforts to reopen the road.
The accident on the José María Morelos-Polyuc route occurred when a driver lost control of his heavy vehicle while navigating a curve, colliding with a gray Ibiza car. The two occupants of the Ibiza tragically lost their lives in the crash. The National Guard, firefighters, and Municipal Police were called to the scene to secure the area and manage the traffic.
Both accidents resulted in lengthy queues of cars in the affected areas, significantly disrupting traffic and mobility on Highway 307.
