Two Motorcyclists Injured in Collision on Playa del Carmen’s Constituyentes Avenue

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Two motorcyclists sustained injuries in a serious collision on Constituyentes Avenue on Thursday afternoon, prompting a response from emergency services.

The accident occurred near the In House informal settlement in the Aparatos Occidente area, at the intersection with Playa de Chemuyil Street. According to witnesses, one rider attempted to make an illegal U-turn without proper precautions and collided with another motorcycle that had the right of way on the main road.

The impact sent one motorcycle skidding across the asphalt, while the force of the crash threw one rider several meters into an adjacent green area, where they remained motionless next to their vehicle. The scene caused alarm among nearby residents and passing motorists.

Witnesses immediately called 911 for emergency assistance. Paramedics arrived promptly and provided pre-hospital care to both injured individuals at the scene.

After stabilizing the patients, emergency personnel determined they required hospital transport to check for possible internal injuries and fractures. Authorities took both individuals to the General Hospital for medical evaluation and specialized treatment. Their condition is currently reported as stable, though they remain under observation.

Municipal Transit Department officers also responded to conduct an investigation to determine the exact causes of the accident and assign responsibility.
