Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Quintana Roo — A man died while being transported to a hospital after being shot in a community near this city in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula.
The incident occurred in Naranjal Poniente, where the victim sustained a serious gunshot wound, reportedly from a 16-gauge shotgun. Municipal police officers provided emergency transport to take him to the city’s main hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries en route.
State Prosecutor’s Office personnel, including investigators and forensic experts, took charge of the scene. They conducted necessary procedures and recovered the body.
Authorities have not released precise details about what happened, confirming only that a man was shot in the mentioned community and died during transport.
Police and Mexican Navy personnel secured the hospital following the incident.
