Two Armed Drug Dealers Arrested in Playa del Carmen Police Operations

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Police arrested two men in separate drug busts in Playa del Carmen, seizing firearms and suspected marijuana in two operations on Thursday.

In the first incident, officers caught Duncan “N” on 35th Avenue North, between 102nd and 104th North streets, allegedly exchanging bags of possible narcotics with another individual who fled upon spotting police. After searching him, police seized several doses of green, dry herb resembling marijuana, along with a 5.56mm rifle, a magazine, and live ammunition.

In a second operation on Lilis Avenue, between Flor de Durazno and Linos streets in the Mision de las Flores neighborhood, police detained Martin de Jesus “N”, who was reportedly exchanging bags of possible drugs with another person who escaped on a motorcycle. A search revealed additional doses of green, dry herb, a .233mm rifle, a 9x19mm pistol, two magazines, and live ammunition.

Authorities turned both suspects and the seized items over to the State Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine their legal status within the constitutional timeframe.
