Tulum, Quintana Roo — The Tulum Municipality, led by Mayor Diego Castañón, presented the 2025 Municipal Sports Prize, recognizing the talent, discipline, and perseverance of athletes and trainers who have excelled in competitions at the local, state, national, and international levels.
During the ceremony, eight athletes and coaches were distinguished with an official recognition and a financial incentive, as part of the push for sports development in the municipality.
The awardees were Ilian Aracely Poot Navarrete, in adapted sports; Isaías de Jesús Leciano Mut, in associated wrestling; Ariadna Yarey Chávez Medina, national judo champion; and Iker Sneijer Navarro Ken, also in judo.
Additionally, the prize was received by Derian Alexander Cardona Franco, associated wrestling coach; Marta Domínguez Ramos, judo coach; José Oswaldo Dzib May, sports coordinator in the Maya zone; and Félix Espinoza Quezada, soccer instructor.
Municipal authorities emphasized that this recognition aims to inspire new generations, strengthen the social fabric, and consolidate sports as a tool for development and well-being in Tulum.
