Tulum Moto Fest expects up to 7,000 visitors during August festival

TULUM, Quintana Roo — The Feria de Verano Moto Fest Tulum 2026 will bring motorcycle rides, concerts, camping and other activities to the municipality this month, with organizers projecting attendance of between 5,000 and 7,000 people.

The summer fair is scheduled to run from Aug. 7 through Aug. 23. The main Moto Fest activities were previously advertised for Aug. 13 to 16, when motorcycle clubs and independent riders from several parts of Mexico are expected to gather in Tulum.

Event director Pedro Lovi said between 3,000 and 4,000 motorcyclists had registered as of early August. The larger attendance estimate includes riders’ companions, local residents and people attending the concerts and other public activities.

The festival is intended to generate additional business for hotels, restaurants, gas stations and other local establishments during a slower part of Tulum’s tourism calendar. Organizers have not released a projected economic impact in pesos.

Organized rides will visit nearby destinations

Motorcyclists will participate in organized rides to Akumal, Cobá, Muyil and Puerto Aventuras, taking the event into other parts of Tulum and the Riviera Maya.

Akumal and Puerto Aventuras are north of Tulum along Federal Highway 307. Muyil is south of the municipal seat, while Cobá is located inland, approximately 45 kilometers northwest of downtown Tulum.

Detailed departure times and meeting points for the rides had not been released as of early August. Local traffic and public safety authorities are expected to assist with the movement of participants.

The rides are recreational activities rather than races. Participants remain subject to Quintana Roo’s traffic and safety regulations, including licensing and helmet requirements established under the state’s Mobility Law.

Concerts and motorcycle attractions planned

The entertainment program announced by organizers includes performances by Omar Corona y su Norteño, Chico Che Chico, Carnival of KISS, Yeri Mua and Grupo Mojado.

Motorcycle exhibitions, stunt demonstrations, contests and activities for participating clubs are also planned. One competition will recognize the best-costumed motorcyclist, while three motorcycles will be raffled during the festival’s closing activities.

A wristband priced at 100 pesos will provide access to the concerts, organized rides, camping and the motorcycle raffle, according to organizers. Additional information about sales locations, performance dates and raffle conditions is expected through the event’s official channels.

Online listings have identified both central Tulum and Macario Gómez as event locations. A complete schedule confirming which activities will take place at each site had not been published at the time of the announcement.

Hotels join the event

Approximately 20 hotels have joined the festival’s “Comunidad Biker” lodging program, Lovi said. The participating properties will accommodate visiting riders and other attendees during the event.

The program is designed to connect motorcycle visitors with local accommodations and encourage participants to remain in the municipality for several nights. Organizers have not yet published the full list of participating hotels or information about special room rates.

Tulum has increasingly used cultural, sporting and entertainment events to attract domestic visitors and maintain tourism activity outside the destination’s busiest winter months. The state Tourism Secretariat tracks hotel occupancy and visitor numbers through its monthly tourism reports, although no separate government attendance forecast has been released for Moto Fest.

Security and medical coverage arranged

Organizers said 30 private security guards will be deployed during the festival. The event will also have an ambulance, four paramedics and a cleanup crew.

Lovi said the necessary insurance and permits had been arranged. Municipal and state authorities may also participate in traffic management and public safety operations during the larger gatherings and organized rides.

Further details, including the final concert schedule, ride departure times, participating hotels and activity locations, are expected before the main Moto Fest program begins Aug. 13.
