Tulum, Mexico — With the firm goal of diversifying its tourism market and attracting visitors from around the world, municipal authorities in Tulum have intensified the promotion of its natural and cultural attractions, which go beyond the traditional offerings of sun, beach, and sea.

Eleazar Mas Kinil, councilor of the Tourism Commission of the City Council, emphasized this strategy in a recent statement. "Tulum is not just a trendy destination; it is also positioning itself as one of the most competitive in Latin America and the world. We must redouble our efforts to maintain this position and attract new audiences," said Mas Kinil, highlighting the importance of showcasing the ecological, archaeological, and cultural value of the municipality.

Among the iconic sites being promoted is the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, recognized as one of the country’s most significant ecotourism destinations. "In Sian Ka’an, visitors enjoy direct contact with nature through boat tours, far from urban noise," explained the councilor, underscoring the unique experience offered by the location.

Mas Kinil also emphasized the significance of other destinations within the municipality, such as Akumal, Cobá, Punta Allen, and Boca Paila. The latter, famous for its natural bridge where lagoon waters intertwine with the sea, serves as an ideal habitat for observing birds such as herons, pelicans, spoonbills, and eagles, making it a paradise for ecotourism enthusiasts and nature photographers.

Tulum’s treasures are not limited to its natural riches; the municipality is home to important archaeological zones, cenotes, underground rivers, and a National Park, collectively solidifying its status as a comprehensive destination for cultural, adventure, and sustainable tourism.

The councilor concluded by stressing that Tulum’s promotion must be constant and strategic, aimed at building an image of a diverse and sustainable destination capable of capturing the attention of conscious and responsible travelers. "We are committed to continuing to promote the best of Tulum so the world can discover that here, you also find history, nature, and living culture," Mas Kinil stated.
