Tulum, Mexico — The Tulum City Council announced the application of discounts for the payment of the Property Tax corresponding to the 2026 fiscal year, as part of a strategy to encourage timely compliance with this contribution among citizens.
According to information released by Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo, the early payment tax incentives will be in effect during the first quarter of the year. In January, a 30 percent discount will be applied; in February, 15 percent; and in March, 10 percent.
Additionally, a 50 percent discount is contemplated for people with disabilities, retirees, pensioners, and citizens who have credentials from INSEN or INAPAM. This benefit will also be applicable for municipal workers, State Government employees, as well as teachers and administrative personnel in the public sector. This incentive will be in effect from January 2 to March 31, 2026.
The municipal authorities specified that these discounts apply only to one property intended for housing, in accordance with the guidelines established by the Municipal Treasury.
Payment of the Property Tax can be made in person at the offices of the Municipal Treasury or through the digital platform of the Tulum City Council, enabled to facilitate compliance with this tax obligation.
Finally, the municipal government urged taxpayers to take advantage of the current benefits, highlighting that property tax collection is one of the main sources of income for strengthening public services and municipal infrastructure.
