The state of Tlaxcala has set a new Guinness World Record by offering an impressive 186 varieties of basket tacos. These included unique ingredients such as plum, coconut, chia, and peanut. The record-breaking event took place in Mexico City, where more than 30,000 tacos were handed out to both tourists and locals. This traditional dish hails from the municipality of Nativitas.
Governor Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros led the distribution of the basket tacos and the Guinness Record award ceremony. She was joined by Nathalie Desplas Puel, the head of the Mexico City Tourism Secretariat, and Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, the head of the Tlaxcala Tourism Secretariat.
The event was a community effort, with 150 taco-makers from the community of San Vicente Xiloxochitla participating. They were responsible for preparing the more than 180 varieties of basket tacos. Read more
