Cancún, Quintana Roo — Police arrested three Cuban nationals on drug charges after allegedly catching them in the middle of a transaction in the parking lot of Market 28 in Cancún.
Officers from the Public Security Department were on patrol along Avenida Xel-Há in the city’s Supermanzana 28 district when they spotted the three men exchanging bags containing what appeared to be marijuana and crystal meth, according to authorities.
The men, identified as Yamir Jesús N., Luis David N., and Carlos Alejandro N., were searched after officers made the observation.
Police said they found multiple bags with substances resembling marijuana and crystal meth. The evidence includes:
- Yamir Jesús N.: 39 bags of marijuana, 31 bags of crystal meth, and a cellphone.
- Luis David N.: 37 bags of marijuana and 26 bags of crystal meth.
- Carlos Alejandro N.: three bags of marijuana, three bags of crystal meth, and three eco-friendly bags in different colors.
All three men were handed over to the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Drug Dealing, along with the seized evidence. The office will determine their legal status.
