A taxi driver from the "Lázaro Cárdenas del Río" Taxi Union was tragically killed early Thursday morning in the Bellavista neighborhood of Playa Del Carmen. Official reports indicate that the incident occurred at the intersection of Avenue 150 South and 19 South Street, near the area known as "Las Torres".
Eyewitnesses report that armed men intercepted the taxi, numbered 443, and fired multiple shots at the driver. A local resident reported hearing at least three gunshots at the time of the incident.
Police arrived on the scene to find the driver deceased in his vehicle, having sustained several gunshot wounds. Private paramedics later confirmed the driver had no vital signs.
