Join the National Math Olympiad in Quintana Roo

Cozumel, Quintana Roo — The organizing committee of Campeonatos COM, the Red Profesional de Entrenadores de Matemáticas, Club Mantarrayas, Club Marlins, and the Instituto Cumbres Cozumel have issued an open invitation for students to participate in the National Fusion 25 Mathematics Olympiad Contest in Quintana Roo.

The event aims to incentivize students to develop their analytical capacity and logical reasoning in the field of mathematics. This year's contest will be held on Saturday, September 27, at the Instituto Cumbres Cozumel. This event represents the second national-level contest to be held in person, with a third, the Latin American Olympiad (OLAM), to be conducted remotely.

Objectives and Organization

Beyond fostering analytical skills, the contest seeks to motivate the study of mathematics among students at various levels of basic, upper secondary, and higher education. It also aims to incentivize a spirit of development among teachers of mathematics in these educational sectors.

The National Mathematics Olympiad Contest (FUSION) is organized by Campeonatos COM and the Red Profesional de Entrenadores as part of the 2025 National Mathematics Circuit. These groups are responsible for planning and promoting the development of academic mathematics competitions and contests at the national and Latin American levels. All students from private and public educational institutions in the country are eligible to participate.

Contest Categories and Structure

Participant categories are structured according to the following school cycles for the 2025-2026 academic year:

  • Fourth Grade Primary
  • Fifth Grade Primary
  • Sixth Grade Primary
  • First Year Secondary
  • Second Year Secondary
  • Third Year Secondary
  • First Year Preparatory
  • Second Year Preparatory
  • Third Year Preparatory
  • University (Elite-Open) — Participants may compete in any category.

State examinations will consist of a total of 15 exercises and problems distributed in the following manner:

  • 5 exercises according to the NEM (3 multiple choice and 2 answer-only).
  • 10 problems according to the COM syllabus (6 multiple choice and 4 answer-only).

Selection Process for National Finals

The top four exam scores in each category will be selected to represent their state at the FUSION 25 Grand National Final. In the event of a tie, up to six participants per category may be selected from Quintana Roo.

Delegates are required to send the results to COM Coordination by the predetermined dates so they can be published on social media. These results may constitute pre-selections, selections with substitutes, or final selections; each delegation will determine the appropriate stages of selection, with further details available on the state flyer on the organization's social networks.

The deadline to submit results is Saturday, October 4, 2025, specifically for the state of Quintana Roo. The results will be published on the organization's Facebook page.
