Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Agustín Ostos, the YouTuber known as Soy Tribu, has confirmed that some of the items stolen from his apartment in Playa del Carmen were recovered in Sinaloa. However, critical materials, including a hard drive containing footage from his travels across the Americas, remain missing.

Partial Recovery of Stolen Property

Ostos, who boasts millions of social media followers, stated that his computer is expected to be returned this week. His camera, sold to an individual in Sinaloa, may also be returned soon, though its status remains uncertain.

"The hard drive, the most important item for me because it contains the conclusion of my trip to Alaska, is still missing. If we keep pressuring the authorities, I’m sure we’ll find it," Ostos said in a statement.

Suspect May Avoid Prosecution

The individual accused of the theft, identified as Leonel N., could be released in the coming days without reaching a reparatory agreement. Leonel N. is the son of Cozumel councilwoman Carmen Cruz Zúñiga, affiliated with the Revolutionary Confederation of Workers and Peasants (CROC).

Ostos has sought a reparatory agreement since the incident but has yet to see progress in the case. Authorities have not announced any formal charges against the suspect.

Details of the Theft

The robbery occurred earlier this month at an apartment on Avenida Constituyentes near Quinta Avenida. Security footage captured an individual entering the residence and stealing items valued at approximately $15,000. Ostos believes the suspect is part of a larger criminal group specializing in similar thefts.

Soy Tribu gained fame for documenting his motorcycle journey across the Americas, from Alaska to Mexico. The missing hard drive contains irreplaceable footage from the final leg of his expedition.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to recover the remaining stolen property.
