Cancún, Mexico — The Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office (FGE), in coordination with the National Guard, executed an arrest warrant against Edgar “N,” a psychiatrist, for his alleged involvement in acts potentially constituting the crime of rape against a minor whose identity remains confidential.
Arrest Made by Investigative Police
The FGE had previously offered a reward of two million pesos for information leading to Edgar “N”‘s capture. However, no one claimed the reward, as he was apprehended by the Prosecutor’s Office’s Investigative Police following extensive field, technological, and desk investigations.
The incidents under investigation occurred on September 19, 2022, when the victim, who was undergoing therapy with the psychiatrist, reported that Edgar “N” inappropriately touched her before committing rape. The victim stated this had occurred on multiple prior occasions.
Detention Carried Out at Suspect’s Residence
On the night of July 2, Edgar “N” was arrested during a search warrant execution at a residence on Chilam Balam Street in the Lomas Virreyes neighborhood. After legal procedures, he was handed over to the requesting authority, which will determine his legal status within the constitutional timeframe.
