Six Quintana Roo Municipalities to Host Free Public Viewing of Mexico vs England World Cup Match

Cancún, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo government has announced a new edition of the Fut Fest, offering free public viewing of the Mexico vs England Round of 16 match in the 2026 World Cup. Giant screens, sports activities, and recreational spaces will be set up in six municipalities.

The event will take place simultaneously on Sunday, July 5, in Cancún, Chetumal, Bacalar, Tulum, Isla Mujeres, and Cozumel. Admission is free for all families.

In addition to the match broadcast, each venue will feature sports activities, contests, and games for children, youth, and adults.

Match Time and Venues

The Mexico vs England match kicks off at 7:00 p.m. local time. Authorities recommend arriving early to secure a good spot and participate in pre-game activities.

The confirmed venues are:

  • Cancún: Malecón Tajamar
  • Chetumal: Explanada de la Bandera
  • Bacalar: Domo Artesanal del Parque Central
  • Tulum: Explanada del Palacio Municipal
  • Isla Mujeres: Playa Centro
  • Cozumel: Parque Quintana Roo

Pre-Game Activities

Each municipality will have its own program of activities before the match:

  • Cancún: 2v2 soccer tournaments, penalty contests, fut-tennis, and pull-up challenges.
  • Chetumal: Pick-up games, table football, face painting for children, Panini sticker trading, and fut-tennis tournaments.
  • Bacalar: Table football, pull-up contests, recreational penalties, giant-ball futbeis, and physical activities.
  • Tulum: Soccer matches, penalty competitions, pull-ups, plus basketball and volleyball games.
  • Isla Mujeres: Beach soccer mini-tournament and a 7-a-side soccer tournament in children’s and open categories.
  • Cozumel: Fut-tennis, 1v1 challenges, freestyle exhibitions, penalty contests, and target shooting.

Authorities invite families to wear the Mexican national team jersey and enjoy the match in a community atmosphere. The Fut Fest is part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup activities aimed at promoting sports, strengthening family togetherness, and offering free recreational spaces for the public.
