Cancún, Mexico — The Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) has initiated a public consultation process for the proposed "Hotel The View" project. The development is planned for Lot 3 of the Third Stage of Cancún's Hotel Zone and is designed to feature 456 rooms across 15 stories.

The project's promoter, Hogares Vivenda SA de CV, is processing an Environmental Impact Statement (MIA) with the General Directorate of Environmental Impact and Risk (Dgira) to secure authorization for the development.

Project Specifications and Public Participation

According to the official documentation, the hotel will include "service and maintenance areas, which will contain: a kitchen, employee dining room, storage areas, cisterns, housekeeping, restrooms, loading docks, a trash room, maintenance area, security, uniforms, laundry, activities, and wedding planning."

The project will also feature "specialty restaurants and a sports bar, and public areas such as pools and sun decks, stairs and elevators, covered and uncovered parking, access roads, interior hallways, guest rooms, landscaped areas, and conservation zones," as reported by Noticaribe.

Those wishing to comment on the project must present their opinions at Semarnat offices or through its website by entering the project key code 23QR2025TD042. The announcement stated, "All proposals must contain the full name of the individual presenting it; in the case of a legal entity, the name of the entity and its representative, address, and email address."

Context of the Hotel Zone Lot

As previously reported by REPORTUR.mx, the lot in the hotel zone where the former La Boom nightclub was demolished does not yet have a definitive owner. All interested parties that have come forward have also expressed a desire to acquire the adjacent marina and the land of a ruined hotel, according to Sofía Martínez Betancourt.

The real estate agent from Sofimar Bienes Raíces recently explained to REPORTUR.mx that the property holds significant tourist value due to its privileged location and because its zoning permits the construction of a building of up to 15 stories.
