Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A man was shot and wounded Friday morning in the In House neighborhood, marking the second armed attack in the area this month. Gunmen on a motorcycle fired multiple shots at the victim, who sustained injuries to his right leg.
Residents called 911 to report the shooting, prompting a response from police and emergency services. Paramedics provided pre-hospital care and transported the injured man to Playa del Carmen General Hospital.
Authorities launched a search operation but failed to apprehend the attackers, who escaped easily amid what residents described as a lack of police presence in the area. The shooting occurred at the intersection of Garajes and Gran Bahía streets in the irregular settlement known as In House.
This incident follows another fatal shooting in the same neighborhood earlier this month, raising concerns about ongoing violence in the area.
