Vidal was widely recognized for his fundamental role in the development of Expo Hotel, the most important exhibition for the hotel and restaurant sector in the Mexican Caribbean. His vision consolidated Expo Hotel Cancún as the most important HORECA sector exposition in Quintana Roo.
For decades, his vision, leadership, and commitment transformed Expo Hotel Cancún into a benchmark for innovation, business, and growth for the HORECA industry, decisively contributing to the strengthening of tourism and thousands of companies in Quintana Roo.
An untiring entrepreneur and passionate promoter of Mexican tourism, Salvador Vidal leaves an indelible legacy among colleagues, friends, and collaborators, who today remember him with gratitude and respect for his professionalism and human quality.
The tourism industry in Cancún was in mourning at the end of 2024 following the death of Diego de la Peña, who, with more than five decades of career, was a key figure in the hotel and business development of the destination.
