Cancún, Mexico — The talent and creativity of women entrepreneurs from the Riviera Maya once again captured the national spotlight at the Mexicana Universal 2025 Quintana Roo final. The event, held on May 9 at Mandala Beach Club in Cancún, showcased the designs of Ivonne Bravo, founder of Ninfa Do Mar, and Viviana Arcos, creator of Playa del Bikini, who dressed contestants with elegance and style, reinforcing the region’s fashion as a benchmark for innovation and femininity.
A Celebration of Caribbean Identity and Female Empowerment
Both designers are active members of AMEXME Riviera Maya (Mexican Association of Women Entrepreneurs), an organization that supports female-led businesses. Their participation in Mexicana Universal, a prestigious national pageant, highlights not only their professional achievements but also the growing influence of the Riviera Maya’s creative industry.
The gala was attended by Valeria Ridertsma, President of AMEXME Riviera Maya; Ruth Carrillo, Director of Entrepreneurship; and Elisa Eraña, who accompanied the designers and reaffirmed the association’s commitment to empowering women leaders.
"It fills us with pride to see our members making strides on national stages. This achievement is proof of what we can accomplish when we bet on creativity, teamwork, and sisterhood," Ridertsma said after the event.
Karina Ceja Crowned Mexicana Universal 2025
The evening culminated with the crowning of Karina Ceja, a Quintana Roo native, as Mexicana Universal 2025. Ceja was recognized for her poise, confidence, and social commitment—qualities that embody the spirit of contemporary women in the Mexican Caribbean.
Beyond the glamour of the pageant, the runway showcased a powerful message: local female talent is ready to conquer any stage, carrying with it the identity, strength, and vision of a region that continues to reinvent itself.
The event also served as a testament to AMEXME Riviera Maya’s support for women entrepreneurs, uniting glamour, creativity, and social responsibility in a single night.
