Governor Mara Lezama recently inaugurated the 4th Mexican Caribbean Gastronomic Festival. This event highlights the culinary expertise of specialists from 11 municipalities within Quintana Roo. Lezama commended the traditional cooks, chefs, producers, and entrepreneurs for their role in putting Quintana Roo on the global culinary map.
The festival takes place in Bacalar and was promoted at the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR). It offers a variety of activities designed to celebrate the region's cuisine. These include a tour of authentic flavors, an exhibition featuring pineapple as a key ingredient, and the promotion of local tourist attractions.
The festival's aim is to strengthen Quintana Roo's culinary identity, which is richly influenced by the cultural diversity of its residents.
