Governor Mara Lezama speaking at the AMPI Cancún 2026 swearing-in ceremony with real estate professionals in attendance

Cancún, Quintana Roo — Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa emphasized legal certainty and modernization of the public property registry during the swearing-in ceremony for the new leadership of the Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals (AMPI) Cancún chapter.

Speaking at the event in Cancún, which included national AMPI president Jenny Rivas Padilla and real estate sector professionals, Lezama stated that real estate development in the state is advancing with order, responsibility, and a focus on collective well-being.

Digitalized and More Efficient Public Registry

Lezama explained that the Public Registry of Property and Commerce of Quintana Roo currently operates with 93% of its procedures digitalized, with a goal of reaching 100% in the short term.

She highlighted the implementation of the Quintana Roo Real Estate System (SIQROO), an agile and accessible digital platform that modernizes Public Registry processes and represents a firm step in the state’s digital transformation.

The governor stressed that these actions also represent a direct combat against corruption practices that for years affected trust in this department.

“For a long time, it was synonymous with corruption and taking property away from many people. Today, this humanist government with a feminist heart combats those practices and puts honest, hardworking people at the forefront,” she said.

AMPI Leadership Change Strengthens Real Estate Sector

The ceremony also marked the transition of AMPI Cancún leadership, where Karen Ramos concluded her term and Dafnee Fuentes Trujillo assumed the presidency of the organization.

Before the real estate professionals, the governor noted that this leadership change strengthens a sector that is strategic for the state’s economic development.

She emphasized that Cancún is consolidating as one of the country’s most important economic engines, with a population exceeding one million inhabitants and a state registry of more than 2,700 registered real estate professionals, which helps guarantee transparency, professionalization, and legal certainty for families and investors.

Economic Growth with Social Well-being

Lezama reiterated that Quintana Roo is promoting a development model where economic growth translates into real opportunities, access to dignified housing, and stronger communities.

She congratulated the new AMPI Cancún 2026 Board of Directors for taking on the commitment to promote responsible and sustainable real estate development in the state.

Outgoing president Karen Ramos noted that during her term, she prioritized training, professional ethics, and innovation, which helped strengthen investor confidence and generate strategic connections in the sector.

Meanwhile, new AMPI Cancún president Dafnee Fuentes Trujillo stated that her objective will be to consolidate a stronger and more professional association.

“It’s not just about growing, but about doing so with respect, responsibility, and vision,” she affirmed.
