Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo — Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz supervised maintenance and urban improvement work on Sunday at the access points to Arrecifes and Casita Blanca beaches, part of municipal efforts to create safer, cleaner, and more functional spaces for residents and visitors.
The mayor, accompanied by Public Services personnel, toured the areas where crews performed painting, streetlight repairs, vegetation trimming, signage installation, and placement of new waste containers. These actions form part of the municipal strategy to strengthen the destination’s tourism image and maintain public spaces near the coast in good condition.
“The goal is to offer safer, cleaner, and more functional spaces for inhabitants and visitors,” Mayor Tziu Muñoz said.
Municipal officials reported that workers addressed more than 700 square meters of urban infrastructure, improving pedestrian access points and common areas. Authorities also reinforced lighting in key areas, a measure that not only enhances safety for those passing through the zone but also contributes to protecting local wildlife during nighttime hours.
Mayor Tziu Muñoz emphasized that constant maintenance of beaches and access points is fundamental to elevating the community’s quality of life and strengthening the experience for those visiting the destination. The work will continue at various points throughout the municipality as part of the permanent public services program.
