President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena recently unveiled several social programs and significant investments for the Yucatan region. These initiatives aim to improve the conditions of older women and people with disabilities in the state.

The Well-being Pension for Women initiative was launched, and the Agreement for Pension for the Well-being of People with Disabilities was signed. "This agreement is made possible through the combined efforts of the governments of the Fourth Transformation. The state will contribute 50% and the Federal Government will provide the remaining 50%," stated Díaz Mena.

The governor also announced the construction of the University of the Sea to expand educational opportunities for young people. This is in addition to the Renaissance Maya university scholarship, which will provide 10,000 university students with a bimonthly stipend of 3,000 pesos in cities where the federal scholarship does not apply.

Another initiative, the Renaissance Women program, will support 30,000 self-employed mothers under 59 years old who are in poverty or lack access to social security. These women will receive a stipend of one thousand pesos every two months.

Díaz Mena also announced plans to install irrigation systems powered by solar panels for farmers and small ranchers, and to construct crop extraction roads. The Security at Sea program will provide each boat with a GPS device, life jackets, and communication equipment.

President Sheinbaum confirmed that the expansion of the high port of Progress will begin before the end of the year. She also announced the start of technical studies for the metropolitan ring road and the construction of 20,000 homes in the state. Sheinbaum Pardo expressed her confidence that Joaquín Díaz Mena will become the best Governor of Yucatan.
