Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — In a joint effort between the public sector and private enterprise to strengthen sports, Playa del Carmen will host the state-level stage of the 2025 Copa Telmex. The tournament, for both women's and men's categories, will be held from October 17 to October 19 on the fields of the Poliforum and Riviera Maya Sports Units.
Representative teams from the municipalities of Playa del Carmen, Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, Benito Juárez, and Tulum will compete in the event for a chance to advance to the national phase of one of the country's most important amateur tournaments.
During the ceremonial uniform handout event, Professor Ismael Medina Pulido, President of the Quintana Roo State Football Association, and the Director of the Sports Institute, Alberto López Castro, were in attendance.
López Castro expressed gratitude for the trust placed in the event by the Copa Telmex and the Football Association. He highlighted that participants would enjoy playing on rehabilitated fields with new synthetic turf and in safe spaces for their performance.
