Playa del Carmen, QRoo — "Without security, there is no tourism; that is why we go out every day to protect the people of Playa del Carmen, as well as those who visit us, with a major operational deployment that provides coverage to the entire municipality," stated Municipal President Estefanía Mercado.

The mayor emphasized that Playa del Carmen operates 465 patrol vehicles, including a helicopter, to guarantee the safety of more than 300,000 inhabitants and the thousands of visitors who arrive each year.

"Today we have the largest number of patrols in all of Quintana Roo, and the best equipment, because our priority is everyone's peace," she added.

Estefanía Mercado highlighted that this year, Playa del Carmen achieved an investment exceeding 1,200 million pesos in equipment and patrol vehicles, managing to consolidate itself as the most secure municipality in Quintana Roo. Furthermore, it became a national benchmark for the highest per capita investment in security in the history of the country's municipalities.

She noted that the operational deployment of the Municipal Citizen Security Secretariat, under the charge of Carlos Montesinos, covers the entire municipality, strengthening the population's confidence and the well-being of tourists, thereby consolidating the municipality as a reliable destination.

Finally, she highlighted the support of President Claudia Sheinbaum and Governor Mara Lezama to continue with the construction of peace for the benefit of the families of Playa del Carmen.
