Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — The Playa del Carmen government announced that its municipal health centers continue to operate normally, providing free and quality medical care to residents despite recent adjustments to operating hours.

Viviana Silva, in charge of the Villas del Sol health center, said the facility operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with continuous service in two shifts. She noted that while the center previously offered 24-hour service, the change has not affected the quality of care, which remains comprehensive.

Silva detailed that the center handles an average of over 30 general consultations daily, along with specialties including pediatrics, gynecology, dentistry, nutrition, and psychology. Nursing services also remain active for procedures like wound care, injections, and other basic treatments.

Alexandra Cárdenas, deputy director of Physical and Mental Health, confirmed that the El Petén health center operates without issues, offering general consultations, nutrition services, dental care, morning vaccinations, and nursing services from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. She emphasized that care quality is maintained, including management of chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension.

Daniela Nieto, Mental Health coordinator in the Nicte Há neighborhood, reported that mental health services run normally, providing psychiatry, psychology, and speech therapy. She said the center sees about 250 patients weekly, including new and follow-up consultations, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Fabiola Kuc Muñoz, coordinator of the Puerto Aventuras health center, confirmed that the unit offers routine care in outpatient consultations, psychology, dentistry, nutrition, and pharmacy services. She highlighted that hours remain unchanged for patient convenience, including weekend service from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with an average of 20 daily consultations.

Health officials urged residents to confidently visit the medical centers during established hours, reminding that services are free, continuous, and tailored to patient needs.
