TULUM — A day focused on social awareness and community strengthening was held on the esplanade of the Mayan Culture Theater, marked by active citizen participation within the framework of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The event included an activity called “Master Class: Rhythm that Empowers,” as well as the “Little Market with Weavers of the Homeland,” where physical activity was combined with the promotion of local talent, generating a public space for coexistence.
According to information from the Directorate of Gender Equality, these actions are part of a strategy aimed at raising awareness among the population about the importance of eradicating gender violence, while promoting activities that encourage social participation.
During the day, attendees participated in group activities focused on exercise and body expression. Simultaneously, the market showcased the work of women entrepreneurs, who offered handcrafted products.
The event was characterized by a participatory atmosphere, promoting values such as inclusion, respect, and equality, on a date that seeks to generate reflection and concrete actions against violence against women.
These types of initiatives reinforce the importance of creating public spaces where citizens can get involved in activities that contribute to social cohesion and the recognition of the role of women in the community.
