Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — State authorities have announced the construction of four new educational facilities to address the rising demand for classroom spaces in the municipality. The projects, set to be completed in time for the upcoming academic year, include a primary school, a kindergarten, and a secondary school in the El Edén neighborhood, as well as an additional primary school in Puerto Aventuras.

Onocífero Paredes Reyes, regional liaison for Educational Services, emphasized the urgency of expanding infrastructure to accommodate the growing student population. "The goal is to ensure no child is left without a classroom. Each school year, the population increases, and with it, the need for more educational facilities," he stated.

Paredes Reyes also confirmed that a digital platform for student enrollment and school transfers will be operational by mid-August as part of logistical preparations for the new academic term. Additionally, the state government will provide school uniforms to alleviate financial burdens on families in Quintana Roo.

The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen educational access in the region amid rapid demographic growth.
