The "National Corn Fair Cancún 2024", a culinary festival celebrating Mexico's staple food, is scheduled for the 27th and 28th of July 2024. The gastronomic event will take place at Las Palapas Park, starting at 4:00 PM each day. Visitors can look forward to the "Flavors of my México", featuring over 100 corn-based dishes, desserts, and drinks.
The fair is being organized in partnership with the Benito Juárez County, the Cancún Cultural and Arts Institute, and the National Chamber of the Masa and Tortilla Production Industry. "We invite everyone to join us for this food festival at Las Palapas Park on the 27th and 28th of July, starting at 4:00 PM. We're grateful for the support from Ana Paty Peralta, the municipal president of Benito Juárez County, the participating departments, and the National Chamber of the Masa and Tortilla Production Industry," stated the event organizer.
Over the two-day festival, attendees can expect to indulge in a variety of corn-based dishes, including pozole, tacos, tamales, quesadillas, gorditas, enchiladas, nachos, chilaquiles, empanadas, tostadas, huaraches, flautas, esquites, tortilla soup, salbutes, panuchos, sopes, brazo de reina, papadzules, tlacoyos, tlayudas, cream of corn soup, cornbread, corn cake, atole, champurrado, tejuino, and more.
The "National Corn Fair Cancún 2024" is part of the Yucatán Peninsula's Gastronomic Circuit (Cigapey). In addition to the food, there will also be stands selling handcrafted goods and souvenirs related to corn. Priority for participation in the gastronomic and commercial expo sale was given to vendors offering food, drinks, snacks, and desserts made with corn, as well as handcrafted goods, crafts, and souvenirs made from or inspired by corn, and services and products related to corn production and industrial corn products.
