Mother Mourns Son Executed in Cancún’s Region 107

Cancún, Mexico — Shouts and cries of pain were heard on Avenida Playa in the Paraíso Maya subdivision: they were those of a mother mourning her son, executed in Cancún's Region 107.

According to preliminary information, the events occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, on Avenida Playas in the aforementioned subdivision.

Witnesses revealed to the police that the young man was exiting the private street or cul-de-sac of Laguna Encantada onto Avenida Playas on his motorcycle when individuals on another motorcycle caught up to him.

It is reported that the young man managed to realize the ambush and even got off his vehicle to escape on foot. However, the assailants fired between seven and ten shots, executing him almost instantly.

His body was left lying on the avenue, 30 meters from where he had abandoned his motorcycle.

The assailants managed to escape. Shortly after the detonations, neighbors identified the victim and alerted his family, who live in the mentioned private street.

A short time later, the young man's mother arrived in the area and broke down in tears and screams upon finding her son's corpse, which was covered with a white sheet. Given the woman's understandable state, neighbors asked the police to hurry the arrival of an ambulance to attend to her.

At this time, the identity of the young man executed in Paraíso Maya has not been revealed, nor have the motives for the shooting attack.
