Million-Dollar Robbery in Cancún Triggers Major Police Deployment

Cancún, Quintana Roo — A large-scale security operation unfolded across Cancún after a group of armed robbers fled with a substantial sum of cash near Supermanzana 8, authorities said.

According to initial reports, several suspects carried out the robbery while riding motorcycles. After seizing the money, the robbers scattered in different directions to evade capture, with at least one suspect seen entering the Donceles 28 neighborhood.

Officers detained a Colombian national in Donceles 28 and seized a motorcycle and a backpack used by a food-delivery platform courier. Police have not disclosed the exact amount taken.

Municipal Police, Ministerial Police and Mexican Navy personnel are continuing patrols and inspections at strategic points across the area as they search for the remaining suspects. Officials said the operation remains active.
