Cancún, Quintana Roo — Work on the Maya Train has damaged electrical infrastructure belonging to the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), interrupting the operation of drinking water pumping stations in Cancún, according to Aguakan, the area’s water utility.
The company warned that the disruption could cause low water pressure or a complete loss of service in parts of Benito Juárez municipality over the next few hours.
Aguakan said it is in contact with the relevant authorities to address the problem and restore service as quickly as possible.
The utility urged residents to take precautions because of the possible temporary interruption and thanked the public for their patience while work is underway to return the affected pumping stations to normal operation.
